Why don’t you measure large workpieces with the ZEISS MMZ?

ZEISS MMZ is a series of ultra-large coordinate measuring machines for measurement of large parts that are normally difficult to handle, such as ultra-large parts which requires high accuracy, heavy and intricately-shaped parts with recessed measurement locations and large parts that need to be loaded sideways.

Major applications : General large machinery,  printers, machine tool beds, aircraft parts (engines, etc.), turbine parts , large engines and gears, cast parts, dies, construction machinery parts

Responding to measurement needs for all large workpieces

mass technology enabling combined use of multiple measurement sensors
mass (multi-application sensor system) technology enables mounting of diverse measurement sensors, allowing a single ZEISS MMZ machine to meet a variety of measurement needs. As optional sensors can be retrofitted*, for example, you can suppress the initial cost by choosing the minimum necessary configuration "at the time of the initial purchase" and add optional sensors "in the future" when the need arises for new measurements. As such, you can take a flexible approach to choosing the measuring machine without trying to anticipate future measurement needs.

Special extension, the ZEISS REACH CFX 3, MMZ (optional, only for connection to the VAST gold sensors)
for measuring even deep holes as well The ZEISS REACH CFX 3, MMZ is a specific carbon fiber extension for the ZEISS MMZ series. As well as the regular ZEISS REACH CFX extensions, it is lightweight, highly rigid, and thermally resistant, it can also extend the lateral measuring length up to 1200 mm.

Dedicated rotary table for heavy workpieces (optional)
Compatible with the dedicated rotary tables with maximum loading weight 3 tons. This is a highly beneficial option in that it enables high-accuracy measurement of intricate shapes and reduces stylus cost as well as measurement time by reduction of stylus change frequency.

ZEISS VAST technology for higher efficiency

"VAST Navigator" for high-accuracy, high-speed scanning measurement
Navigator function is mounted for real-time correction of the stylus and measuring machine deformation caused by the force that changes in measuring operation (accelerations). This superior technology can significantly enhance the accuracy in highspeed scanning measurement and enables speedy and reliable measurement.

"VAST Performance" FlyScan function allows scanning measurement without being concerned with holes or notches
This function allows scanning measurement of a notched surface as if
it were a continuous surface. This function achieves significant time
reduction while measuring the inner or outer circumference of a workpiece
with notches, or the wall surface of a hole, or evaluating the flatness of a
surface without the need of avoiding concaves.
