A focus variation measuring function to be launched as an option of Opt-scope, a non-contact 3D surface roughness and contour measuring instrument

Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd. will launch a newly developed focus variation measuring function as an option of Opt-scope, a non-contact 3D surface roughness and contour measuring instrument. Opt-scope with this function installed will be unveiled at the 31^st Japan International Machine Tool Fair, or JIMTOF 2022, which will be held between Tue. November 8 to Sun. November 13, 2022 at the Tokyo Big Sight.

The focus variation measuring function is based on the focus variation microscopy, a measurement method specified in ISO 25178-6:2010 (an international standard for 3-dimensional surface texture), enabling the measurement of millimeter-order contour, including slopes of high angles, which was difficult to perform with the white light interferometry.

Opt-scope is a measuring instrument that can evaluate fine surface roughness and 3D geometry at nano- and sub-nanometer-level with high resolution and high accuracy by white-light interferometry that uses Tokyo Seimitsu's unique envelope/absolute phase detection algorithm DEAP. With its high-precision non-contact solution that takes advantages of these features, the company has contributed to state-of-the-art manufacturing in the automotive, semiconductor and semiconductor manufacturing equipment industries, among others. With the addition of this new focus variation measuring function, together with the conventional white-light interferometry, Opt-Scope can now meet an even wider variety of measurement needs.
