Chairman Hideo Ohtsubo Becomes Honorary CSIA Advisor

The Chairman & CEO of Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd., Hideo Ohtsubo, has been bestowed with the title of Honorary Advisor from the CSIA (China Semiconductor Industry Association).

This title has been given to persons who have been recognized as making a significant contribution to the Chinese semiconductor industry, but Chairman Ohtsubo is the first time this title has been awarded to a foreign national.

The certificate of Honorary Advisor was given to Chairman Ohtsubo by Mr.Yu Zhongyu, the chairman of the CSIA on August 23rd, the night before the Third IC China (China International IC Industry Exhibition and Seminar, held from Aug. 24 to 26).

Chairman Ohtsubo served as the chairman of the SEAJ (Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan) for four years from 2001 to May 2005, and during this time developed a relationship of cooperation and exchange between Japan and China through the provision of information, technical cooperation and other activities with the semiconductor industry in China. In addition, this award recognizes his active support and participation in IC China, and his contribution to the technological development of the Chinese semiconductor industry.

Two Honorary CSIA Advisors to Date

  • Chinese Academy of Sciences: President Ms. Lin Lanying
  • Wuxi Huajing Microelectronic Co., Ltd Mr. Wang Hongjin

CSIA (China Semiconductor Industry Association)

  • Non-profit organization in China that is made up of more than 300 semiconductor design firms, production companies and research and development organizations. This body is recognized by Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
  • It is the equivalent of a national agency directly controlled by the government that combines the functions of the SEAJ (Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan) and JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association).
