Reversion to regular shifts at Hachioji and Tsuchiura Plants -Clear signs that demand is increasing-

Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd. (Chairman & CEO: Hideo Ohtsubo) has decided that the Company's Hachioji Plant will revert to regular operation (5 days per week) from April 1, 2002. The Plant had been operated only three days per week since October 2001 due to abnormally weak demand. The decision to revive regular shift conditions will mean that all company sites, including the Tsuchiura Plant for measuring instruments, will be operating under normal conditions.

This points to a trend in the revival for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, where inventory has been well controlled, and now sees demand increasing steadily. Tokyo Seimitsu is able to respond flexibly to meet the trend of increasing output from the Hachioji Plant.
