Tokyo Seimitsu acquires a new factory site for the mass production of LEEPL E-beam lithography equipment.

Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd. (Hideo Ohtsubo, Chairman and CEO) has purchased a factory site in front of JR Kita Hachioji Station, formerly owned by Shin Caterpillar Mitsubishi Ltd. The site area is approximately 14,600 sq. meters (157,150 sq. feet). The site was purchased price for approximately \2,000,000,000 (US$16,285,000).

The site will house the mass production factory for LEEPL E-beam lithography equipment which is now being developed at LEEPL Corporation (Takao Utsumi, Chairman, Nobuo Shimazu, President), an affiliated company of Tokyo Seimitsu. The site will also accommodate facilities for developing and manufacturing other new products.

Demolition and site preparation will take place over the next year with construction of the new factory beginning in April, 2002 or later. The new factory, which is to have capacity to manufacture fifty (50) units per month, will be constructed to meet the manufacturing and shipping schedule for LEEPL E-beam lithography equipment in FY2003.
