Tokyo Seimitsu Concludes Exclusive Sales Agreement with CogniTens for Sales of Portable Non-contact 3D vision system in the Japanese Market
Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd. concluded an exclusive sales agreement with CogniTens Corp.(Head office located in Israel) for the sale of a portable non-contact 3D vision system in the Japanese market on February 1.
CogniTens Corp. is a venture company for developing and manufacturing 3D image measuring instruments. CogniTens has recently succeeded in development of a portable non-contact 3D vision system "Optigo(TM)" series. The "Optigo(TM)" series is a completely new concept in 3D vision which works with a novel optical system and data processing unit. The data processing unit is able to pick up curved profile data in a very short period of 1 second/shot for large parts such as automobile doors and bumpers. This unique mapping capability can prevent an accumulation error for large parts requiring a number of shots, ensuring highly accurate measurement. In addition, it can calculate diameters and pitches of holes on a curved plane. This capability is very powerful for measuring and evaluating sheet metal workpieces of press-worked parts. "Optigo(TM)" series is an innovative 3D vision system for measuring large parts at high speed and with high accuracy.
CogniTens Corp. chose Tokyo Seimitsu as its partner for the sales in Japan because of its extensive engineering force and sales network with an excellent service system.
Tokyo Seimitsu estimates that the need for the "Optigo(TM)" series, whose applications are distinct from the conventional CMMs, will increase with in-line measuring machines for automobile manufacturers to about \ 500 million annual sales in several years. Tokyo Seimitsu views this exclusive sales agreement as being in keeping with its current doctrine of "cooperating with a party who is competing but strong in the field for providing World No. 1 products by building Win-Win relationships".
Tokyo Seimitsu has exhibited the "Optigo(TM)" series in the Inter-Mold die machining technology exhibition to be held from April 12 to 15 at Intex Osaka.
